Do you want fries with that?

How about instead I help you to help yourself? Google on your keywords
man, everything is first link on page/do-I-Feel-Lucky type low-lying fruit.

http://www.mail-archive.com/info-***@gnu.org/msg33409.html *_Locking
cvs_*

I don't see how manipulation of an OS' filesystem requires perl.

You won't get far as an engineer without lifting yourself up by your
bootstraps more. You need to start spending long hours reading books,
newsgroups/forums and things like google (with intelligent query terms).

Consider this the best advice you've ever gotten.

And correct the slang, this is very annoying.

Hi Good Morning
My name is jagadeesh i am trying to learn CVS in Windows Environment.
Please run the command
cvs version
which will return the version(s) of CVS you are running.
The version(s) that are returned will color the advise you need/are given.

Mr. Klein is partially right,
a) drop the slang.
b) You need to read at least part of some manuals, but he did no suggest any, I will attempt to
correct that oversight.

If the cvs version command returns a line containing '(CVS) 1.11' or '(CVS) 1.12'
you need to look at
http://ximbiot.com/cvs/manual/
or
get an appropriate copy of cederqvist-* from ftp.gnu.org such as
http://ftp.gnu.org/non-gnu/cvs/source/stable/1.11.23/

If the cvs version command returns a line containing 'CVSNT'
you need to look at
http://www.cvsnt.org/manual
http://www.cvsnt.org/wiki/
And most of your further questions would need to go to one of
Following list borrowed from Arthur Barrett
CVSNT newsgroup:
http://www.cvsnt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/cvsnt
or
news://news.cvsnt.org/support.cvsnt
WinCVS newsgroup:
http://groups.yahoo.com/subscribe/cvsgui
TortoiseCVS newsgroup:
http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=48103

And for good measure as someone running a CM system, I suggest looking at
http://www.cmcrossroads.com/bradapp/acme/

All of these references will either answer your questions or provide you the correct words to used
when asking new questions.
